Stillwater Mining Company

Made in the USA, or in this case Mined in the USA, should still be dear to any American’s heart.  Stillwater Mining Company, which is listed on the NYSE (SWC), is the only U.S. producer of palladium and platinum and the only significant source of platinum group metals outside of South Africa and Russia. Before Gold started its uphill climb, a few years back we were watching the platinum roller coaster ride.  The large daily swings we see in gold today, were common-place in platinum then.  Then there is palladium, which has certainly had a run of its own.  Stillwater’s mining operations are located in southern Montana along the Company controlled 28-mile long J-M Reef, the world’s highest-grade deposit of platinum group metals.
