Gold’s Incredible Climb | A Ten Year Trek

leave a comment »

I’ve been a serious collector and investor of precious metals for just over ten years now.  I remember being able to buy gold for around $250 an ounce. I would carry an ounce or two with me and show to friends and family as a novelty.  I would preach buy gold, and I have been told over and over that “I should have listened to you!”  Just the feeling of holding an ounce in your hand was a selling point for me.  This was a time when the dollar was strong and people seemed to have plenty of discretionary income.  Things are certainly different these days.  The graph above is like a trip down memory lane for me.  I have vivid memories of life’s events, while gold spot was at certain price points.  It is needless to say inspiring the way gold has climbed the past ten years, even if the reasons leave something to be desired.  Last week was epic for Gold, and I’m happy to be a witness to such an event.  With all the uncertainty in the world today, I’m sure the ride is far from over.  The bottom line being, Buy Gold!
