Ten Years of the Euro | Will it make it Ten More?

The Euro had its tenth birthday last week and I thought I would post on it for a couple of reasons.  One it has had a rich numismatic run so far, with 17 nations producing unique obverses and a common reverse.  Second will the Euro make it another ten years.  There is a lot of speculation about this as the European financial crisis grows.  There is a great video and article you can check out here.

Making the 2 Euro Coin

Here we have an interesting video on the making of the 2 Euro coin.  Europe has gone in a different direction with their coining process, using bi-metal configurations to prevent counterfeiting.  The Euro is the reigning king when it come to monetary values.  I look forward to the day when the greenback retakes the title!

The Color of Money

We all know and love the Greenback, and even though it has become more vibrant in the past few years, we have nothing on other currencies throughout the world when it comes to color.  Be sure to check out the whole post for some notes with colors and designs will take your eyes for a ride.  While fun to look at, I’ll take a good old American dollar any day of the week.
