Raymond Thomas Baker (1877–1935) was a rich United States businessman, born and bred in Nevada, who was Director of the United States Mint from 1917 to 1922.  Above on the left with then Senator Swanson, he studied at University of Nevada, Reno as well as Stanford University.  His wealth came from the gold mines of Nevada. These riches lead him on a journey any man would have dreamed to embark on.  The photos are a glimpse of days past, and a view of this traveled mans stature.
