Making the 2 Euro Coin

leave a comment »

Here we have an interesting video on the making of the 2 Euro coin.  Europe has gone in a different direction with their coining process, using bi-metal configurations to prevent counterfeiting.  The Euro is the reigning king when it come to monetary values.  I look forward to the day when the greenback retakes the title!

Safe Find | BROWN SAFE

leave a comment »

Little did I know there was a rise, fall, then a rise again of manufacturers of quality safes in the United States.  I have done many posts on the quality safes that were made here in the nineteenth and twentieth century.  Names like Victor, Cary, and Herring-Hall-Marvin were made in the U.S.A., and built to last.  Then came the import assault.  An influx of highly affordable and very poorly built safes imported primarily from China.  This rapidly put most American safe builders out of business.  But the strong survive, and the Brown Safe Company was just that.  Founded in 1980 it has grown into the premier safe and vault company providing worldwide security solutions.  These safes and vault doors are first class!

Buyer Beware | Counterfeit PCGS 1893-S Morgan Dollar

with one comment

If it wasn’t bad enough, here we have counterfeit PCGS graded key date coins.  Once again they all seem to be coming out of China, no surprise!  I just have to say , Buyer Beware!  These graded coins are being represented as “Sealed 100%1893 S MORGAN SILVER DOLLAR XF 40 PCGS.”  Sounds like some more word play to me, the value of the coin according to PCGS price guide is $8500.  I didn’t run the serial number, but I’m sure it wouldn’t check out either.  Once again I don’t know what if anything can be done about this, but I wanted to make my readers aware.

Buyer Beware | Counterfeit Carson City Rolls

leave a comment »

This site was brought to my attention by one of my readers.  He viewed my post on Original Carson City Rolls and found he could buy them on this site for a fraction of what they are worth.  Well when he received his merchandise sure enough, counterfeit!  I only viewed a few of the pages, but they are all coming out of China, no surprise!  I just wanted to say Buyer Beware!  These coins are being represented as “Sealed 100%ULTRA RARE SEALED Morgan Dollar CC State Bank Roll Morgan Dollar..”  Sounds like some word play to me!  I am shocked and wonder if these are even legal.  I don’t know what if anything can be done about this, but I wanted to make my readers aware.
