Safe Find|1905 Herring Hall Marvin Antique Safe
Since we were just talking about Carson City and safes, I found this 1905 Herring Hall Marvin safe. Its condition looks pretty rough on the outside, and the Yale combination lock appears kind of corroded as well. Inside looks pretty standard for a 106 year old safe. The owner claims he has seen the same safe sell on eBay for $10,000.00, he’s asking $1300. I think there might be a difference in quality. When talking about safes I seem to always bring up their character, well this one’s might just been in the story of the company that manufactured it. If your interested is peeked, stay tuned for this afternoons post.
hello,
i pretty much bought a safe exactly like that from an older man who aquired it for free from where he worked. i paid 2000.00 for it but it was black and beautiful with gold gilt and painted on names so it has a story with it. the safe you are looking at is probably worth 500 at best in the condition it is in. I am not a safe expert but ive looked at alot and first thing you think about is what is it gonna cost to move and then do you have the combo and keys.
hope i could help
