Resolute Desk

leave a comment »

I have always loved having a great desk and workspace.  There is one desk in this country that has an incredible history.  The Resolute Desk is a made from the timbers of the British Arctic Explorer Ship Resolute,  which the United States rescued and returned to Britain.  It was gifted to Rutherford B. Hayes in 1880 by Queen Victoria.  The desk was used by many presidents, but Jackie Kennedy brought it into the Oval Office in 1960.  This desk is a true part of our American heritage.
