E Pluribus Unum

Here is a saying you might hear from time to time, you know what it is, but don’t know exactly what it means.  E Pluribus Unum is a motto on the seal of the United States and means “Out of many, one”.  It is somewhat common these days for the average American, but go back to the late 1700’s and it really meant something to those colonial men who decided to take on the British Monarchy.  It’s pretty amazing to think our country is less that 250 years old.  I’m sure if you heard Latin in your everyday life, this would also roll off your tongue with a little more zip.
