Cumberland Island, GA

with one comment

I went to Cumberland Island with my Sister and her family the other day, and I was pretty impressed.  I had no idea the historical value this barrier island had hiding behind its spanish moss-covered oaks.  First of all you have to get there by ferry, and it is owned and run by the National Park Service.  The island was 90% owned by the Carnegie family at one time and John Kennedy Jr. married  Carolyn Bessette here in 1996.  Take some time to read through the history and you too will be impressed.
