Numismatics

with 2 comments

Numismatics by definition:  is the study or collection of currency, including coins, tokens, paper money, and related objects. Here is a word that most people can’t say, let alone know what you are talking about.  Being a Numismatist can be a little lonely, because you can’t share your passion with just anyone.  It goes much deeper than being a rare coin expert, it dives into history and art.  While our newer coins and currency can lack some artistic appeal, look at coin and paper money made only one hundred years ago.  They are true works of art, engravings made entirely by hand, without the aid of computers.  Next time you pick up a piece of monetary history, take a few seconds to really look at the details.  You will be sure to be amazed.
