2005 Marine Corps 230th Anniversary Uncirculated Silver Dollar

I can’t believe it has been five years since this coins has been released.  I was so excited when it came out because of the honor it bestowed on our Marines.  According to the U.S. Mint Press Release: “The United States honored a branch of the military for the first time with a commemorative coin, the Marine Corps 230th Anniversary Silver Dollar.”  Mintage maximum is 600,000 coins, which was increased by legislation from 500,000, another first!  Minted at the U.S. Mint Facility at Philadelphia, these coins are sure to become treasures to the men and women that have served our country, their families, and numismatists alike.
