First Silver Dollar with Braille

leave a comment »

I recently read a real neat piece on the first silver dollar to have braille.  It is the bicentennial of the birth of Louis Braille.  The creator of the alphabet for the blind.  Thought the blind can differentiate US coinage by size and weight, this is the first attempt to put braille on a coin.
