Coast to Coast on 1000 Coins Tally
As you know the road trip is over and all though I loved the X5RV in conceptual sense, it’s no fun to sleep in. I’m happy to be back sleeping in a real bed. This leads me to the tally section, as you remember I was driving from coast to coast on 1000 John Adams Presidential Dollars. You should have seen the look on some of the attendants when I would count out seventy or eighty of these to pay for gas. Over all I had good reception, was offered by people in line to buy some of the dollars, I told them the cashier would be happy to sell you a few or maybe all. Only one attendant had to ask his manager if they were real. Like I said it was an overall success. Using the coins can be burdensome in these large numbers, but to have a few in you pocket is really nice. I ended up with 88 coins to spare and pile of receipts. So here it is:
Gas:$614
Food:$92
Beverages:$40
Tolls/Fees:$25
Lodging:$141
Remaining Coins:$88
Total:$1000
The whole trip was just under 4000 miles. Add that to my flight out to Vegas and it was a 6000 mile round trip. I hope you enjoyed the ride as much as I did. Earlier this year I was going to have the car shipped out to Georgia, but I’m glad I didn’t!

Congrats Wilson!!! Thanks for sharing the adventure.
